Long Beach, CA | April 7, 2017 – Local Long Beach natives, Duane and Danielle Osterlind, operate Novus Mindful Life Institute Counseling and Recovery Center to serve their community.
Founded in 2009, Novus Mindful Life Institute Counseling and Recovery Center, on the corner of PCH and 2nd Street, serves Long Beach and the surrounding communities of Huntington and Seal Beach with comprehensive counseling and treatment options for individuals, couples, marriage counseling, sexual and pornography addiction treatment and intensive outpatient care.
At Novus, Duane Osterlind serves as the clinical director of the agency overseeing the treatment of all clients to ensure everyone receives the best care. Duane graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2004 with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling: Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2008 he completed additional training to earn his Certified Sex Addiction Therapist credential through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. He is licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide psychotherapy services. Duane also serves as a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He is an expert in helping individuals and couples whose lives have been affected by stress, anxiety, substance abuse, out of control sexual behavior and pornography addiction. His preferred methodologies include Humanistic, Attachment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Duane is passionate about letting his clients know that they are not alone in their struggles and that healing and recovery is possible! Duane has over 10 years of experience successfully helping clients work through some of the hardest and most challenging circumstances.
Danielle Osterlind, earned her A.A. in Sociology at Cerritos College, her B.A. in Sociology at UCLA and in 2006, her Master’s of Business Administration in Organizational Psychology. Danielle serves Novus as the Executive Director overseeing appointment scheduling and insurance billing. Danielle’s goal is to create a safe and confidential environment allowing all clients to feel comfortable and cared for as they take the first steps of their healing journey. She is passionate about advocating for the care and support of partners, spouses, wives and mothers as they embark on their journey to gain knowledge and strength within their own lives.
Duane and Danielle married in 2005 and in 2009 made the leap to open their practice. El Dorado Park where they enjoy going on bike rides with their children and taking their Lab/Dalmatian pup Pearl to the dog park.
Duane and Danielle hope to give back by using their skills and resources to provide hope, healing and recovery to the residents of their hometown. It is their mission to serve the residents of Long Beach in a manner to help all people strengthen their mental health in the spirit of healthy and joyful lives, families and community.
