Long Beach, CA | July 24, 2017 – 6 Day Facing The Shadow Workshop Retreat helps men heal their lives from the effects of Sexual Addiction and Pornography Addiction.  

Novus Mindful Life Institute Family Counseling and Recovery Center in Long Beach, California, a recognized leader in the field of marriage counseling, relationship counseling, infidelity recovery, sex addiction and pornography addiction treatment helps men heal their lives with 6-day, two weekend, Facing The Shadow intensive workshop retreat.

For men struggling with out of control sexual behavior, or excessive pornography use, this 6 day sex addiction treatment workshop retreat can help save their lives and launch them, with great momentum, onto a path of true healing and recovery.  Men who can invest six days of their time, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, over two weekends, can be empowered to begin to overcome sexual or pornography addiction.

This workshop will help clients understand their addictive cycle and how to change it.  It is educational and therapeutic.   

Men experiencing any of the following situations can benefit from this event:

• A pattern of out of control behavior.
• Severe consequences due to sexual behavior.
• Inability to stop despite adverse consequences.
• Persistent pursuit of self-destructive or high-risk behaviors.
• Ongoing desire or effort to limit sexual behavior.
• Sexual obsession and fantasy as a primary coping strategy.
• Increasing amounts of sexual experience because the current level of activity is no longer sufficient.
• Severe mood changes around sexual activity
• Inordinate amounts of time spent in obtaining sex, being sexual or recovering from sexual experience.
• Neglect of important social, occupational, or recreational activities because of sexual behavior.

All participants will receive a Recovery Start Kit developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes.  

This workshop is operated from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and participants return home or to a local hotel for the evenings.  This unique schedule allows clients to engage in deep, meaningful and helpful recovery treatment while limiting the time away from work and family.      

In this intimate workshop retreat, which is limited to 6 participants, participants will begin to develop new knowledge and understanding of why they behave the way they do, identify triggers for acting out, learn to set healthy boundaries, and work toward healing as they develop new healthier behaviors toward a joyful life.
